Apple has lifted the veil on a major casting for the sophomore season of SEE, which stars Jason Momoa (AQUAMAN, GAME OF THRONES) as Baba Ross – a man hoping to survive the distant future, after a deadly virus has all but wiped humankind off the planet. As per today’s reveal, it’s been announced that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and STUBER actor Dave Bautista will star opposite Momoa in the second season, which has Jonathan Tropper in line to serve as day-to-day showrunner.
In addition to Momoa, Bautista joins returning cast members Alfre Woodard as Paris, Hera Hilmar as Maghra, Sylvia Hoeks as Queen Kane and Christian Carmago as Tamacti Jun. As part of an effort to lend authenticity to the show, SEE features cast and crew who are indeed blind themselves, or experience low vision.
Recently Bautista wrapped production for two highly-anticipated films, including Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Netflix feature ARMY OF THE DEAD. Bautista plays Scott in the upcoming film, which takes place after a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas. In the film, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. In addition to ARMY OF THE DEAD, Bautista also recently completed his role as Glossu ‘Beast’ Rabban for Denis Villeneuve‘s DUNE. As you’re likely to be aware, DUNE is poised to be a feature adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel, about the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy.
The first season of SEE is available to watch on AppleTV+ right now.
