The beloved HBO drama Game of Thrones wrapped up on May 19 of this year, but real fans are likely not done obsessing over the show (even if they are on team “season 8 was bad”). Entertainment Weekly got an exclusive clip of a deleted scene from episode 3 of season 8, “The Long Night.”
In the clip, which you can find here, Sansa and Tyrion are hiding in the crypts of Winterfell while they are under attack. They are careful to stay in the shadows until they find an opportunity to become the heroes of the moment. If you don’t want to know what happens, then stop reading now and go to the clip above. If you just want someone to tell you, proceed.
As Gilly and Missandei are hiding out in the crypts, Gilly’s child cries, which alerts the wights, and they turn to attack the women. Just as we think we are going to have to close our eyes and open them to find a gruesome, unwelcome murder, Sansa and Tyrion knock off the wights and come to the rescue.
If you have somehow not already read all the spoilers for season 8, then you won’t know about a sad thing that happens in episode 4. Let’s just say this deleted scene is one more satisfying win for Missandei.
Even if you know everything that happened more than six months ago, here’s a fun clip of Nathalie Emmanuel reading fan theories back when season 8 was still in progress, and the haters had hope in their hearts.
