Lara Jean found love—real love. In the new trailer for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S I Still Love You, Lara Jean’s faux beau Peter Kavinsky is now her real beau, and he’s head over heels in love.
The trailer opens with Lara Jean and Peter on their first official date. “This is my first date,” she tells him at the table. We’ve Peter responds, “We’ve gone on a bunch of dates,” Lara reminds him their past dates were part of their fake romance. From there, Peter takes Lara back to the track field where their romance began and gifts her a beautiful necklace as Lauv’s “I Like Me Better” plays in the background (the same song played in the trailer for the first film).
Like the two high school love birds they are, Lara and Peter vow to protect each other. “I promise I’m not going to break your heart,” Peter says to Lara, who returns the love, saying, “I promise not to break your heart.” But this is a rom-com, people, and heartbreak is inevitable, especially when another recipient of Lara Jean’s love letters enters the battle for her heart, abruptly stopping Peter’s ride off into the sunset.
In comes John Ambrose, Lara Jean’s Model UN crush, played by Grease Live’s Jordan Fischer. He’s hot, has a smile that’ll melt your heart, and is ready to steal Lara Jean’s heart. There’s just one problem: Lara’s heart now belongs to Peter. But for how long?
To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You premieres on Netflix on February 12.
